The Banner mine was wonderful   This was an old gold/silver mine with extensive dumps of rocks with calcite and Chalcopyrite.   Some of the rocks had vugs of clear calcite crystals with the remainder of the specimen covered in chalcopyrite.  Very showy. . . .  The only problem was the cold wind and blowing sleet.  Finally the sun came out and everyone had a ball picking up beautiful chalcopyrite specimens.  This mine is accessed by permission only.

The parking area at the end of pavement next to the mine gate.
