FIELD TRIP April 2000
"Field Trips are open to all members of associated clubs of the DMC program of the SFMS Field Trip Committee and to all members of SFMS member clubs who have provided their membership with SFMS liability insurance. Because of insurance requirements, members of the GENERAL PUBLIC are NOT invited on this or any DMC program field trips!" |

Summerville, Chatooga County, GA 9:00 am, Saturday, April 15, 2000 Children are welcome. Pets need to be on a leash. Collecting: Banded agate and drusy quartz. Directions/Where to meet: From I-75, take exit 306 GA 140 west toward Adairsville. Travel west on 140 approx. 16 miles to the intersection of US 27. Turn right onto US 27 and travel approx. 8 miles to the point where the four-lane highway narrows into a two lane. Meet at the Exxon convenience store on the left. Bring: Pick, chisel, water, lunch. Facilities: In town about 2 miles away. Special Conditions: The collecting area is a chert quarry that is currently in operation. Please keep away from equipment (especially if someone is using it). The Area will be very muddy following a rain. |
