Diamond Hill Mine, Antreville, Abbeville County, South Carolina
The Athens Rock and Gem club would like to extend an
invitation to rockhound one of the premier quartz collecting localities
in the southeast. This year saw a lot of
digging with a power shovel which finally uncovered the Amethyst
deposits that had eluded rockhounds for years. Most recently continued
digging has unearthed dark, shiny museum quality smokey quartz as well
as several new veins of the famous Diamond Hill skeletal quartz. Come join us!
