Garnets and staurolite can be found here as 
float and in pockets located 3 to 4 feet below the surface.

This is what we're looking for!
Larry Landry found this large garnet in the first ten minutes
in the top foot and half of soil.

Collecting very large Almandine garnets and staurolite.  The iron garnet specimens at this site range in size from a small egg to as large as a grapefruit or bigger.  You may even find a double or triple!!
