Collecting Talc, Tremolite, Actinolite, Marble, and Dravite Tourmaline.

The mine was origionally called the Nancy Jordan Mine and started it's operaton in 1941 to produce talc for crayons, cosmetics, textile bleacheries, and rice polishing material.  Two10 by12 foot shafts were dug down to the 200+ foot level.  During 29 months from 1945 throught part of 1947, 422+ tons of Crayons and 5,932+ tons of Talc powder were produced.  By the early 1960s, the mine could no longer porduce competitive quantities of material and ceased operations.
