"Sulfur - Chalcoprite - Pyrite"

Photograph - Dr. David Babulski
Collecting site "B".  Photomicrograph at 20x.

Pale yellow "melted" sulfur crystals on bright corroded pyrite.  This specimen is from a vug in an iron stained quartz lens in fine grained amphibolite.  When this vug was opened, loose sulfur crystals poured out of the vug.  Almost 2 grams of loose crystals were collected.

Very pretty specimen of Chalcopyrite crystals lining vugs in massive pyrite in quartz.  The Chalcopyrite here takes on a colored tarnish from bright blue to purple to a rich golden color.  A very striking specimen.
