Melissa Swope was the winner of an Iron and Nickel Meteorite that fell in Russia.  She also won for her school's science classes a set of mid-cambrian Trilobites from Utah. 
Ms Katheriene Watters is Melissa's
science teacher this year.

Congratulations to Hailey Boeck, our Junior Grand Prize winner from the 2005 May Show and her school, Faith Lutheran School.

Pictured above is Hailey, her Science Teacher, Tami McIntire and Principal, Jack Hibbs from Faith Lutheran School in Marietta, GA. 

Hailey won a Sikohte-alin Meteorite for her collection and Faith Lutheran School won a polished Ammonite Pair for use in their science classes.

2004 PRIZE WINNER

On April 27, 2005, I had the pleasure to go to Oakwood High School, in Cobb County, and present the 2004 Junior Grand Prize to Alex Lanegger.  Alex won a Carcharodon Megalodon Tooth for his collection and Oak wood High School won a Trilobite, Asaphus Punctatus, on matrix for use in their science classes.    Paula Lawrence, Science Department Chair, sent us a nice thank you letter for the Trilobite and for our continued support of Earth Science Education in our schools.

On April 28, 2005, I had the pleasure to McConnell Middle School, in Gwinette County, and present the 2003 Junior Grand Prize to
Aimee Lorts'.  Aimee won a Meteorite from China for her collection and McConnell Middle School won a Orthoceras Fossil Plate for use in their science classes

 A Junior will be selected from all the junior door prize slips from the show to win the 2005 award.  The 2005 award is a Russian Meteorite for the winning Junior and a polished fossil Ammonite pair for the Junior’s school.  These prizes will be presented sometime close to the May 2006 show.
