Holly Camp Memorial
Earth Science Education Minigrant Program
2008-2009

Knowing the frequent budget shortfalls in public and private education, the Georgia Mineral Society, Inc. wishes to aggressively promote Earth science education.  The Holly Camp Memorial Earth Science Education Minigrant Program intends to supplement the classroom teacher's operating budget.  These moneys do not replace funds normally budgeted for education.  The funds provide opportunities to enhance and enrich Earth science learning.

Examples of projects likely to be funded include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Minigrant Program expects teachers and students to use the available funds for their maximum benefit.  As closure for each project, a written report of no more than four (4) typed pages or a video no longer than fifteen (15) minutes will be submitted to the Georgia Mineral Society Education Committee at the address below.  It is suggested that the report could also be student-compiled, teacher-graded, and submitted in a portfolio format.  A one (1) page written summary must accompany any multimedia presentations.  A presentation to a general meeting of the Georgia Mineral Society may be requested for any project.

This program is open to all middle and high school earth science related classes and teachers within Georgia.

Teachers apply for the Holly Camp Memorial Earth Science Education Minigrant by filling out the attached application and submitting it to:
