Demo Descriptions

Cabbing: Watch the process of transforming and polishing a stone into a cabochon that can be incorporated into jewelry.

Chain Maille: Watch how chains can be made from wire, then incorporated into jewelry.

Faceting: Watch as a special lapidary machine is used to grind flat areas i.e. facets into a translucent or clear stone to create a beautiful gemstone.

Juniors Meeting: GMS junior members will have their monthly meeting at the show. They will be making a special rock-related craft!

Origami Dinos: Fold a single sheet of paper into a fun and playful dinosaur, then color it, name it, and it is your new paleontological pet.

Sands of the World: So much can be learned from a single grain of sand. Come look at sand from all over the world through a microscope and take home a sample too!

Sand & Dinos: Your choice of marveling at sand and taking home a sand sample or making a paper dinosaur to take home.

Wire Wrapping: See how wire can be wrapped around a stone to make a beautiful piece of jewelry.
