[2005] Great venue for a bead show. . .
This show has been greatly improved since it moved from the Shrine location.  A much better selection of dealer/artists than in the past.  This one is definitely due a look, plus you get to view some old planes up close for free! [2005]

Notice the weather in the background...snowing on the mountains!

[2007]  If you attempt to visit this show on it's opening day, be prepared to do some creative parking.  I usually wait till after lunch.  This show is unsurpassed for the type and variety of creative lampwork artist.  I was impressed with Jared De Long from Trinidad California.  Unfortunately, he does not have an Internet site so you can view his work.
     [2003]
There are about a dozen outside vendors at this show selling both retail and wholesale.  A lot of art glass jewelry such as paper weights, push-on art glass bracelets and rings, art glass beads of all kinds, etc.

Inside the main building you can see the handmade beads strung together on short display rods.
     [2004]
Here is a whole table full of Dichroic glass pieces.  Prices ranged from around $1.00 to $1.25 per gram for the dichroic glass and sometimes a lot higher for the art glass beads.  I really believe that the most talented bead artist sell at this show!

For 2006 . . .Two new tents.
This year the promoter of this show has combined his smaller second show with his big one.  The tent on the right contained dealers of glass supplies and equipmant.  The tent on the left contained more glass artist as in the main building and some of the smaller tents.

The Whole Bead Show
at the Windmill Inn
     [2004]
This show takes a little bit of a drive to get to but you will find it worth the trip.  About 60+ dealers located in one ballroom plus two hallways mostly full of dealers in guest rooms on both the first and second floors.  A big crowd of buyers present!

About a half dozen or more original bead artist in the main ballroom and the remainder of the vendors were bead resellers.  Kind of pricey.  Several vendors advertised "antique beads" for sale but you need to know your glass in order to spot the reproductions.

[2007]  The bead show promoters have decided to open this show to the public for a $5.00 fee.  Wholesale buyers still get in free and are given a "WH" sticker to stick on your clothing indicating that you are a "Wholesale" buyer.

Parking and traffic congestion around this venue remains a big problem.  This show contains mostly bead resellers with very few bead artist.  There were a lot of 50% off sales in the hotel rooms but these were generally not a good deal.  A lot of the resellers were selling glass beads that you could get cheaper at a G&LW tent show.  The best deal was the many months of free Lapidary Journals of various kinds that you could pick up at a table in the lobby.

Bead prices were somewhat higher here...but you had a good selection to choose from.
A.B.C. Direct Bead Show [West]
formerly A Beaucoup Conge' show
               [2004]
This one was a little hard to find as it was located behind a small bead store.  There were several excellent bead artist here and one Idaho ROCK dealer with a very good selection of slabs.

In 2005, the rock dealer did not come back and there were only a couple of original bead artist of note.  You could skip this one. . .

2006 - Only four dealers at this show where there were a dozen in the past.  This bead show looks like a gonner!!
              [2004]

This vendor was back at this show in 2005.
