TUCSON GEM & MINERAL SHOWS
Pueblo Inn
                         [2006]

The Pueblo Inn is probably the best of the I-10 Freeway shows.  Quality dealers in the motel rooms and there is also a big tent in the courtyard full of additional dealers.

The I-10 Freeway shows are worth a long hard look because of the sheer size and diversity of dealers.  You will see a lot of junk at these shows but you will also find some real treasures and bargains.  Some of the better deals in Mexican minerals can be found here but you have to look hard.

Selling space front and back of the motel rooms.

There are many locations for gypsum in Australia but large clear selenite crystals were found at Broken Hill, New South Wales and , recently at Mt, Elliot, Queensland.  In South Australia, selenite has been found at numerous localities including, Kimba Gap, Lake Gillies, Lincoln Park and, in the form of 'satin spar' , at Coober Pedy.

Delicately carved quartz crystals that are illuminated from the bottom.  Expensive, of course. . .

Cave formations - I wonder where you can collect these without getting into trouble?
          2007

It was a toasty 83 degrees and sunny today in Tucson where I am attending the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.  Attached is a photo of a quartz crystal I found at one of the shows.  5.2 tons - definitely not a micromount, and I am not sure how to get it in my carryon for the flight home.  They just had this sitting outside, unguarded where anyone could just walk off with it.
