Easter Egg Hunt and Kyanite in Georgia
Sunday, April 12, 2026
Trip Summary:
GMS junior members had their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Instead of eggs filled with candy and toys, juniors hunted for eggs filled with rocks, minerals, and fossils! After ID'ing their goodies, they enjoyed some healthy snacks, then collected native kyanite.
We cannot thank the property owner enough. This trip would not exist without her graciously allowing us to visit her beautiful farm. It takes a lot of work to prepare for us, and she makes sure everything is safe. Thanks to her, Aaron will be publishing his kyanite research soon, and GMS juniors have an incredible place for their Easter Egg Hunt.
Many thanks to junior parents who recognize the value of this opportunity for their children, and who are always very helpful during the event. Thank you to the juniors too, who follow all the rules, and excited as they are, always take time to ID their goodies. Thank you to everyone who helped put the whole trip together before, during, and after. And, of course, thank you to Charles for managing the whole trip!
