Geodes and Ordovician Fossils in Tennessee

Trip Summary:

Two distinct locations in one trip – what a bargain! Members collected Ordovician fossils in the rain, then jumped into a creek to collect geodes! Despite the rain, members found some excellent fossils and a few other goodies at the first location. In the creek, they found several nice geodes, a few fossils, and some limestone suiseki (in Japanese, sui = water, seki = stone; together they describe water-worn stones that evoke images of a landscape, animal, or other natural form.)

Many thanks to the property owners who allow us to collect! A special thank you to the second location owner, a dear friend who always goes to great effort to make the trip special for us! Thank you to the members who shared a wet and wild day with us, and of course, thanks to Charles for arranging another fun trip!
