Private Fossil Collection Tour in Georgia

GMS members gathered for a tour of another GMS member’s fossil collection. He led us around his vast collection, pointing out interesting and unusual specimens, each with a story of the past. Juniors were encouraged to learn about some of the most curious fossils in his collection, and our host took time to teach them various things about what they were seeing. Members were excited to see the collection and were amazed by the variety of fossils. We even had a chance to see his microscope set-up for poring through sand to find microfossils. Everyone enjoyed the tour, including the owner of the collection, so we might schedule another trip there!
