Adopt-A-Highway October
GMS members know when the leaves become an Autumn rainbow and pumpkins sprout on people's porches, it's time once again to don silly costumes, walk up and down the streets, and fill our bags with garbage!
Yes, that's right! GMS members have a weird way of trick-or-treating along our adopted highway!
Members dressed in Halloween costumes gather together no matter what the weather and work diligently to clean up a one mile stretch of road.
The tricks come first as we attempt to outdo one another with the weirdest piece of garbage picked up that day. Then we return with our garbage bags filled and collect a few treats!
After the road is once again sparkling clean, the entire group often descends upon a local eatery, still in costume, where we startle the natives while we enjoy the best of local cuisine.
Though it can be hard and dirty work, it is surprisingly satisfying and fun!

We are committed to 4 clean ups a year. Our section is 1 mile on Steve Reynolds Blvd from Beaver Ruin Rd to Club Dr. The next clean up is October 31st at 10 am. Come join us at the cluhouse in your Halloween costume and keep Gwinnett clean and beautiful.
Plus, after our mile is squeaky clean, we'll have an angle grinding workshop!
